With the Sallie Mae® Knowledge for College program, we’re bringing digital, interactive tools to the classroom to jumpstart conversations around paying for college.
Digital high school course
The Knowledge for College program is designed to help high school juniors and seniors, like you, get ready for the decisions you need to make when it comes to paying for college. Characters help you weigh the pros and cons of different choices, including how to fill out the FAFSA and what loan package is best for you.
Grade Levels: 11-12
Course Length: 5 modules, ~15 minutes each

Know the difference between financial aid and loans, how to fill out the FAFSA, and where to look for free money first, like grants and scholarships.
Compare loan options, like federal vs. private loans, including rates, terms, and fees.
Interpret your financial aid offer letter to be able to calculate the right amount to borrow and know what factors will determine your monthly payments.
Understand loan repayment options, including the consequences of defaulting on a loan, and steps to help reduce debt load.
